If you have plan to store your vehicle for longer than a week, You need to do few things as mentioned below.
1) Wash and wax exterior of your car
2) Clean and vacuum interior
3) Top off fluids
4) Change oil and filter
5) Grease steering and suspension components
6) Disconnect battery (for older vehicles)
7) Place battery on a trickle charger (newer vehicles that require a constant source of power)
8) Top off fuel tank and add fuel stabilizer
9) Make sure parking brake is not engaged
